Christmas Shopping Made Easy
Scunthorpe Lions were delighted when their annual Christmas shopping for grocery items to be distributed to deserving individuals was made so much easier thanks to the help of Wm.
Morrison's.
Each year Lions make up a number of food parcels in an effort to bring a little Christmas cheer to various groups of people in the community, these include elderly persons living alone and families experiencing some difficulties in their life.
Around 30 parcels will be delivered this year and shopping for the contents, during what is traditionally a busy period, can be daunting. The Lions were delighted that Wm Morrison's Scunthorpe Store Manager
Dougie Mitchel offered to help by making up the huge order prior to Lions arriving to collect it.
'Lions Club Secretary Mick Wood commented.. 'the amount of time and the problem of getting around the store with several trolleys full of groceries has created a nightmare for us in previous years. With Morrison's help the whole job has been so much easier., and as Lions are involved in so many projects around Christmas this has been an enormous help to us'
The food parcels will be delivered by Lions in the last few days leading up to Christmas in the hope that the Festive Season will be just a little better for the recipients.
